Agate Cove Recipes : Scones
| This recipe yields 12 scones, and it scales up readily. |

| Ingredients | |
| 3 cups | white flour |
| 1 Tbsp | baking powder |
| 1/2 pound | unsalted butter, softened |
| 1/4 cup | sugar |
| 3 | eggs |
| 1/3 cup | buttermilk |
| Fillings | (Choose one or try your own!) |
| 1 cup | craisins or raisins |
| 1 cup | strawberries, diced |
| 1 cup | blueberries |
| 1 cup | peaches, diced |
| 1 cup each | sliced almonds and coconut |
| Directions | |
| Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl, and set aside. In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Add the sugar, and beat until pale and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each. Add the flour mixture, mixing only until blended. Add the buttermilk; mix only until blended. Sprinkle the filling on top of the batter, and fold it in.
