Agate Cove Recipes : Poached Pears
| As written, this makes 4 servings. It scales upward easily. The pears are poached in the spice-laden juice, and the resulting taste is wonderful. This makes a nice dessert, as well, when topped with vanilla ice cream. |

| 2 | Bartlett or D’Anjou pears (½ pear per person) |
| 1 cup | orange juice |
| 1/4 cup | brown suga |
| 1/2 tsp | cinnamon |
| 1/2 tsp | nutmeg |
| pinch | ground cloves |
| Directions | |
| Remove stem, slice the pear in half, and remove the core with a melon baller. Thoroughly mix ingredients (except pears) and pour Bake covered at 400 degrees for 35-45 minutes, or Serve pears with the cut side up. Pour extra sauce |
